Continuous Filament Mat and Continuous Strand Mat

Continuous Filament Mat ((also known as continuous strand mat) is made from randomly orientated, continuous filaments of E-glass fibre held together with a binder suitable for use with (filled or unfilled) unsaturated polyester, epoxy, phenolic and polyurethane resins .

Continuous filament mat (CFM) is most commonly used in closed molding applications such as, vacuum infusion processing, resin transfer molding, cold molding, and compression molding. With properties similar to those of chopped strand mat, the bulk nature of CFM is advantageous in filling the mold cavity in closed molding processes.

Various grades of CFM material are available optimised for each moulding process and in weights ranging from 225-450gsm.
